On March 3rd, while M and I were getting ready for his class field trip to the Minneapolis Center for Book Arts*, Steve called to say that he had found out that his short-term assignment (STA) in Derry (aka Londonderry, UK) had been approved.
We cheered. We danced. I posted it to FB.
And then on March 4th, we saw this. Oh sure, as soon as we announce that we are going to Ireland this summer, now everyone wants in. :)
But, seriously, we are glad that Irish-British relations have improved enough for the Queen to visit.
Lots of work to get ready but we are still excited.
* The MCBA was a great, great field trip! The kids got to make paper and to use a hand-crank printing press to make a copy of an alphabet poster that they designed. Super cool!
